SteelBoard Weather
It is widely recognized that moisture content, or relative humidity, significantly affects the stiffness and overall physical strength of corrugated containers. Studies have proven what experience has shown; namely that dampness weakens the fiber-to-fiber bond in corrugated enough to cause package failure.

What's more, the greater the change in moisture content, the shorter the life span of the corrugated. Fluctuations in environments - both natural* and artificial** - can be the greatest culprits of humidity.

When it comes to the critical steps of packaging, warehousing and transporting goods, environmental shock or temperature changes are often unavoidable. So too, have been their effects on the performance of corrugated packaging... until now***.

SteelBoard Weather
· Uniquely formulated board which reduces the sensitivity of corrugated to humidity while maintaining all of its mechanical, optical and printable qualities.

· Provides special protection from moisture and humidity, which translates to measurably longer life spans.

- Increased dimensional stability and reduced warping
- Extended fold endurance and reduced bending
- Improved fracture toughness and reduced cracking/liner tears
- Greater durability under load and reduced deformation under palletization
· Presently available in 200# test.

There is no equivalent in the industry today. The structural composition and combination of adhesive bases in this corrugated board is solely attributable to SteelBoard Weather.

* Natural environmental cycles include daily and weekly temperature disturbances caused by weather fronts and seasonal changes.

** Artificial environmental cycles include temperature disturbances caused by location changes during various stages of packaging, warehousing and shipping.

*** Based upon ECT evaluations using TAPPI Testing (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry). ECT (edgewise crush test) is the primary measurement factor in predicting the compression strength of the completed box.
